ANNUAL ADVOCACY & AWARENESS CAMPAIGNS
National Housing Week of Action
May 1st-8th, 2018
Nationally we face an affordable housing shortage unlike has been seen in decades -- if ever in history. Which is why we must continue to use our voices to help guide sound policy and federal funding priorities. Join advocates from across the country, in calling for greater investments in affordable homes and in our communities. Participate in a tweet storm, organize an agency tour with local leaders, or why not host a meet & greet with your legislator or Congressman. Make it known far and wide we demand more federal investment in affordable housing.
National Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week
November 11th-19th, 2018
Traditionally a season of daily reminders of gratitude, it's also a time of increased awareness and societal conversation about extending compassion to our friends and neighbors without safe, stable, affordable homes. Join the over 700 organizations, faith-based communities, schools and colleges, and civic groups which participate annually in this awareness week nationwide. Host a food & clothing drive, organize a lobby day, or create your own event!
Homeless Persons' Memorial Day
Friday, December 21st, 2018
Every year on December 21st, the vernal equinox -- the longest night of the year -- we remember our neighbors who have passed away on the streets. Host a candlelight vigil or silent march, gather local spiritual leaders for a community service in remembrance, organize a meet & greet with your state legislator to remind them the dangers of those experiencing homelessness and extreme poverty, too often directly leading to the loss of hundreds of our friends and neighbors without homes each year.
