About the Arizona Housing Coalition

The Arizona Housing Coalition envisions an Arizona devoid of homelessness, where every single Arizonan - man, woman, child, or veteran - has a safe, affordable place to call home.

The Arizona Housing Coalition (AZHC) is a collaborative association that leads in the efforts to end homelessness and advocate for safe, affordable homes for ALL Arizonans.

EMPATHY: We understand the experiences and perspectives of our members, stakeholders, and community.

ADAPTABILITY: We strive to proactively meet the changing needs of our members stakeholders, and community.

GROWTH: We cultivate an environment of innovation and learning to challenge the current problems and barriers facing our community.

INTEGRITY: We represent an organization built on respect, open-communication, fairness, and trust.

IMPACT: We influence and transform to affect positive and measurable change.

In the early 1990s, organizations seeking to end homelessness decided to work together to share knowledge and attain greater funding for their efforts. The Arizona Coalition to End Homelessness was created to give a unified voice. In a similar vein, in 2008, the Arizona Housing Alliance was started, born from frustration that affordable housing is unachievable for many Arizonans, and knowledge that if we came together we could reverse this trend.

In 2017, the Arizona Coalition to End Homelessness and the Arizona Housing Alliance are experienced even greater growth when the boards of the Arizona Coalition to End Homelessness and the Arizona Housing Alliance voted to merge, to create the Arizona Housing Coalition.

To end homelessness and advocate for safe, affordable housing we:

Creating a Highly-Trained Workforce

Homeless services and affordable housing development are constantly evolving with policy and industry changes. To meet these needs, the Arizona Housing Coalition provides exclusive education, training, and networking opportunities for our members. We are also proud to host two annual convenings: a spring conference focused on connecting the community development and health sectors, and a fall conference focused on best practices in ending homelessness.

Building Political Will Together

The Arizona Housing Coalition champions funding priorities focused on increased development of affordable housing and the aligning of resources which address homelessness and the housing instability experienced by far too many Arizonans. With over 200 members, and counting, we keep our members informed about important policy, regulatory changes, and bills at the local, state, and national levels, and activate our membership on policy issues. Through membership, your voice is amplified in our state capitol and beyond.

Assisting the Community through Partnership

Through building partnerships, the Arizona Housing Coalition collaborates with other organizations in order to increase the supply of affordable homes and build capacity among service providers in an effort to end homelessness. In addition to our commitment to the Arizona Partnership for Healthy Communities, we are proud to be the lead coordinating agency of the Arizona Veterans StandDown Alliance, connecting veterans and their families to critical services needed to ensure health and housing stability.

Because every Arizonan should have a safe, affordable place to call home.
