On Wednesday, March 23, 2016, the Arizona Housing Alliance (now Arizona Housing Coalition) hosted the 3rd Annual Arizona Healthy Communities - Healthy Communities for a Healthy Future conference.
The conference presented topics in broadening your knowledge and understanding of how to build healthy communities. Learn how the housing, transportation, healthcare, public health and community development sectors can collaborate to transform the physical environment of our neighborhoods and communities to improve the health of residents.

Winning on Wellness: How Collective Impact Builds Healthier,
Safer and Thriving Communities
In 2010, the County of San Diego adopted a comprehensive, long-term initiative
called Live Well San Diego. The decision was sparked by the realization that San
Diego County, like much of the nation, was facing a tidal wave of chronic disease
and rising healthcare costs. The Board of Supervisors knew that without taking bold,
deliberate action, the next generation of San Diegans would be in danger of living shorter,
less healthy lives than the current generation. Learn how San Diego County initiated a
county-wide transformation focused on healthy, safe, and thriving communities.
